Definitely get the car seat and crib mattress new. Personally, I wouldn't buy a pack n play used, either. The crib, stroller, and clothes should be fine used. You can find some good deals if you keep looking around. We got our travel system for $99 (half off) at target during their baby clearance in January. We got our crib, changing table, and rocker for around $300-350 as a bundle from Walmart. Almost all her clothes were on sale or clearance. There are a lot of second hand kids stores poppin up. That's something to look into.

whoa!
I couldnt imagine. The used clothes I get at Once Upon a Child, are pretty much brand new and cost a fraction of the cost. So much $$ saved.

The stuff I always have seen was barely under the price of new. So I'm not going to spend 50 cents to a dollar less for something some other kid has worn out.

A lot of the things we got for DS were hand me downs. We got them from a good family friend who had a little boy that was less than a year old at the time, so all it was relatively new. Because we found out so late we didn't have as much time to save up and such in preparation so it was great.
If you don't have the money, and the items are in good condition, it's not like you are a bad parent just for getting using stuff thats been given to you. Even if you do have the money, you can save some and put it towards other things like diapers.

Most definitely the crib mattress, my main thing is the only recent babies in my families have been girls, so I have a 50/50 chance haha. I'm not going to use things for a girl on a boy. No. & I'll have to look around and see where all the kiddie stores are in my area!
Thanks!

I got Gracie some beautiful True Religion jeans for $4.50, never looked worn, ever. Must depend on what region you are in!

No prob. :D

Ahh, I am going to be so much less particular the second time around. If its a boy, he will probably chill around the house in pink pajamas. Lol. I have soooo many girl clothes from DD. we'll buy boy outfits but I'm not going overboard this time.

Yeah here we only have other mother's and no joke they will sell the cheap walmart car seats for like $40, or a swing that's normally 90 for 70. Not worth it to me. And the clothes. Similar. If I find something new with tags I'll consider buying it from a thrift shop etc, but we don't bother unless it's new with tags, even most hand me downs. Around here people pass them through like 5-6 kids so since I'm probably towards the end of that line, they're going to be beyond "well loved".

That seller either had to been an idiot or a rich person who doesn't care about re-sale because they could of sold those jeans for a lot more online.

I can never find good quality clothes at resale places, everyone has turned to the internet to sell and wants all their money back, if not more.

I don't have a Once Upon a Child around here but I've got both of my girls some really nice would be expensive clothes at some of the consignment shops in my area for dirt cheap. 3-4 bucks compared to 20-30 if I bought them at the mall? Hell yeah I say. Lol.

Depends,
I found a new car seat and stroller, great condition,
their baby was 10 pounds when he was born, so he
didn't stay in it for very long at all.
She had the instruction manual, receipts and everything.
And it was bought two months before I bought it from her.

She bought it for over 200 and gave it to me for 50 dollars.

It was sweet.

My son is using my crib that I used when I was a baby. I had my dad assemble it and tested the shit out of it before he came yes its an old drop side BUT it has a bar with a button that has to be pushed in order for it to come down. Clothing/blankets I did brand new along with handme downs. Everything else was brand new. Take what you can used it will give you more $$$ to spend else where like stocking up on diapers and wipes!!

I would go with used if you know where they are coming from. I bought a gender neutral car seat and used it for my son and daughter. My niece gave me one that was exactly like mine for my twins. They had never been in a wreck, not expired, and were not worn out. My cousin gave me a really nice double stroller. It is in perfect condition. Why not use used things?
