If it was from family or a close friend, and you knew you could trust them, then I would say go for it. A stranger though, it seems weird. I would think even if they just didn't need it or want it anymore they would try and get a little more for it. Even selling it half price would be a good deal. Seems a little too good.

NEVER. Seriously. I still have my 9 1/2 year old in a booster. I'm a bit of a seat nazi. I would never, ever, ever buy one used even from a friend. I DID keep a second seat from my sister to make things easier but she is the only person in the world I'd use a used carseat from because I trust her and know that the seat wasn't mishandled or in a wreck.

I just don't trust it. Even if it's a good deal I don't skimp out on carseats. Some people are misinformed too, some just drop the seat around and don't realize you shouldnt compromise the plastic, and some dont know about replacing the seat after a wreck. My friend was in a wreck with her wee one, he was only 4 weeks old or so and the airbags deployed and so I had to tell her.... she needs a new seat. She didn't know that. Now the seat was probably fine, but its a chance I would never take myself.

I'm a carseat nazi myself. That's why I was seriously debating. We are tight on money and I really want a Chicco since I had to use a super cheap Evenflo with DD. I'm glad I'm over my moment of weakness lol. I didn't want the stroller anyway, but he only wanted to sell it as a set. I need a double stroller.

I got a Radian RXT for DD and we love it. She will be in that until she's 120 pounds lol.

I would never ever ever buy a used car seat. Too risky for me. Stroller on the other hand? I see no reason not to if it's clean.

I don't think she realized it came with the stroller. To answer OP yes if its only been used once I should buy it! Now if it looks old and crappy I wouldn't

And how do you know they only used it once? How do you know it wasnt in a car accident? How do you know they installed it properly and used it properly? You just dont and im sorry but my childs life is not worth the word of a complete stranger.

I used a seat for 6 months and it still looked brand new. I mean is your childs safety really worth the risk?

I was told by CHP California HighWay Patrol that you can if you know the person. Otherwise it's prob. not a good idea. You don't know if it has been in an accident. Alos check the date on the sticker they are only good for 3 yrs. What ever state you are in check with the police of HWY Patrol on the laws.

And I normally wouldn't say yes to buying a used carsest but being used once is basically brand new. My SIL bought three brand new carseats because her newborn daughter didn't "like" the first two. So yes there arepeople out there who will buy a carseat and use it once. You could never prove that it was used once but you could use your judgment on the looks of it and your gut instinct about the people you're buying it from. MOST People wouldn't put a newborn baby in danger like that, I know there are psychos who would but I think I would trust my gut instinct if I was in a financial hardship. (not saying the OP is in a financial hardship but honestly that's the only way I would consider buying it used)

Uh no. Oh so wrong. The standard expiration in 6 years unless otherwise stated. But that's beside the point. However be sure to give the proper information when using numbers/statistics/details.

Car seats are good for longer than 3 years. Every seat is different but most are 5-6 years. Mine are 8 years on the harness and 10 for the booster.
