Quoting Laurahyatt:" Im under my fathers insurance until I'm 26 and I paid absolutely nothing for DS1's birth or any prenatal ... [snip!] ... appts. But my sister has the same insurance as you I believe and she paid $200-$300 and that was it for my nephew and niece."

I'm on my dad's and they covered my whole first pregnancy, then tried to deny the very last bill. It was their fault they covered everything to begin with, so they paid it and all I owed was $100.

But, when I got pregnant with my second, I got medicaid since I knew my dad's wasn't gonna make that mistake again LOL, & I didn't have to pay anything.

I thank god I was able to get Medicaid (here its masshealth) for this pregnancy! My husband got laid off jan 10, we found out we were preg jan 20. So I had to get masshealth. If he had the insurance from his old employer we would seriously owe close to $10,000 by the end of it! I added it all up.

Yikes. My SO switched jobs so he doesn't have insurance right now, but everyone complains about it. He says he'd rather just get insurance on his own through BCBS or something, so i'm like.. f**king get it already. I'm not marrying him and losing my health insurance, no way.

We had Cigna through the job DH had lost! Seriously the worst insurance ever, we had a 1500 per person 4500 per plan deductible plus, we then had to pay 20% of every visit! With BCBS we just had a 25 dollar deductible for each visit. It was fantastic! And just an FYI if you do marry him, your dad can still cover you until your 26. When I got married my dad still had the option.

Oh, really? I thought if I got married I'd lose that option. Good to know.

IDK who the insurance through his work is, he used to work at Geico and had Univera which was good, I guess.

That's so expensive, with my dad's all I have is a $20 copay, and I think emergency room is $100 but I'm not positive on that, might just be the ambulance ride if needed.

Yeah I thought so too. Then my checked into it and you can be covered to 26 regardless of marriage, I thought it was pretty cool! Yeah insurance is going downhill everywhere soon. Our insurance got lousy like that when Romney changed everything, our premiums went through the roof along with deductibles and they stopped covering lots of stuff. Romney changed everything basically to what Obama is doing =\
