How many people care that other people have the same baby name picked out as you? I've always thought it was kinda crazy to get upset about it seeing as in no one in this world has their own name(one that no one else has).

When my friend found out that a girl we can't stand found out shes having a girl and is also naming her Sophia, she was more upset than me. Lol, I honestly don't care. We picked out the name we liked and were not gonna change it just because another girl is naming her baby that. So I guess im just curious on other peoples view on the situation?

With a popular name like Sophia, I wouldn't care but if it was a not so popular name, and they were picking it because I had picked the name then I would be upset lol

I would probably feel complimented, lol.... I picked DD's name cause I like it, not because its unique. I mean if everyone starting using it I might start to get worried, but one or two people doesn't bother me

It's a name everyone is going to some of the same ones. I think it's petty to be annoyed over something like a name.

I got a little irrateted when a friend of mine texted me saying.. Your gonna hate me.. I asked why.. She said I'm naming my DD Kylie Rose. That's my DD name to the T. And my DD was 2 at this time. I asked her if she wanted to use the same last name to lol. She said she wanted to name her DD after her dog that died the week before... I was like uhh okay.

Then after her DD turned a year old she posted on fb bitching that he friend was naming her daughter Kylie also. She's like pick your own name. I just laughed.

If it was a popular name then Who cares alot of people have it... But if it was a completely different name that you know that NO ONE has like my son name is Zepplin, then maybe i would be a little annoyed and even think she was picking because i picked it or whatever. But i wouldnt really care for that reason either i would keep the name i picked and drop it.

Exactly!! the same friend that got upset over another girl naming her daughter the same as mine has a cousin that stopped talking to her after she named her baby the same name, and im just like who freakin cares? it sounds stupid arguing over a name.

This is off topic, a little... but it just reminds me... This guy at my office, Jacob couldn't stand one of the girls that worked here. She happened to be pregnant.. with a boy. And she named him... Jacob. And the guy I work with yelled at her when she came back to work and told her to change her sons name... lol. That happened about a year ago. I thought it was hilarious.

I wouldn't care if someone "stole my name", in fact I'd be kinda flattered that they liked my idea more than anything they could think of on their own...

Sophia is the top girl's name and has been for past two years, lmao.

If it was uncommon, yeah it would drive me nuts, lol.

I'd be annoyed if I wasn't naming my child something so common. Even then, if the name wasn't extremely common, it would take someone who is close to me/someone who I spend a lot of time with, naming their child my child's name/name choice. That's only because it would get confusing when we would spend time together, but it really isn't that bad.

If a close friend or family member picked the same name knowing it's what I'm calling my child, yeah I'd be annoyed. But if it's just some random, someone I don't like or hardly know, good luck to them.

It would irritate me if someone I knew named their child 3 of my 4 daughters' names.
