So lets say your body burns 1300 calories a day on it's own, you need those 1300 calories for your body to operate. then you eat another 1000 calories.. you would want to burn as close to 1000 calories as possible.
It depends on how much you weigh, your daily activities and how much you want to lose.
Google it and you should find a calculator that you can pit your info in and it will tell you your daily calorie intake and loss goals.
500 calories less a day is 3500 less calories a week, which amounts to about a pound of loss per week.
To lose one pound you need to burn off 3500 calories. The biggest difference would be made by cutting down the amount of calories you consume. I am on a 15-1800cal per day diet and have lost 16lbs in 4 weeks. I burn about 600cal on an average day from exercise and about 1200 on the weekends per day.
Tht depends you need anywhere from 1200-1500 minimum for your body to just operate and not go into starvation mode so you'd need to consume more to burn and stay in shape. So lets say you burn 500 calories working out you'd eat either 1700 calories or 2000 calories.
I eat 2,000 calories or less every day. I try to burn half of those calories everyday.
