One of my relatives just invited me to this event. They moved out of state shortly after they found out she was pregnant. (I edited the names/states out)

Dear Family & Friends,

*D*and I have done a lot figuring out and made a final decision that we are unable to come up to *home* to visit and celebrate Baby *O* before she gets here. This was a hard decision to make but we can't make it. We are registered at 3 different stores to give a variety in items and different prices. The theme we are doing for *O* is butterflies and flowers with pinks, purples, and whites. Listed below are the stores in which we are registered at. Keep in mind that even though we are living in *new state* you can still go to the store and purchase things but have it mailed to my moms address and she will gather up all the items and mail them all at once to *D* and I, or you can simply make an online purchase and the store will mail it to us. All 3 of the registries are under *J* and *B*

1. BUYBUY.COM
2. Walmart or Walmart.com
3. Target or Target.com

If you need the address to send the items to then message either *D* or i and we will provide that for you and if you would like to contact us by phone just message us and we will provide you with that information as well. Keep noted that it is easier to get a gift card you are more than welcome to do so. Thank you guys so much.

Thanks & God Bless

So, if someone invited you to this event, what would you do/think? I try to be a really open-minded and understanding person, but this definitely annoyed me. I was planning on getting her something anyway..and this made it seem like I was absolutely required to.

That sounds like, oh hey we're not coming for people to celebrate with us but buy us stuff anyway! Seriously? Everyone is different, but at my showers I specifically asked people NOT to buy things, just to come celebrate with us :/

That's not an event....that's telling everyone that she's not having a celebration but she wants gifts anyway, and other people to do the legwork to get them to her. Tacky.

Holy mother of God, that is really tacky.
She might as well have sent out

"Dear whoever you are,
I can't be bothered to visit you or talk to you, but you still need to buy me stuff. Actually, just send me gift cards."

Wow...just wow....that would turn me off even getting them a gift, she came across very greedy.

I know, right? I told people to come celebrate, and gifts were appreciated but not expected. I really liked the part about "keep in mind it is easier to get gift cards" lol.

She invited everyone shes ever met, shook hands with, or passed on the street to this thing. People she's not even close to.

That is tacky as holy hell. She is straight up asking for gifts and giving way too many details as to how people have sooo many options to give them lol. Id send a congrats card and nothing else after reading that if it was me

Also....I'm really curious to see what they are requesting from buybuy.com, lmao, does it even have a baby section?
