Thank you. It's not like I found a random old lady and decided to smack her.
I will respect you, until you give me a reason not to. And invading my personal space, and most definitely touching me without permission is not respect

I had a hard time reading this because I hate when people use someone's ethnicity in a story when it has no bearing whatsoever. "Some Hispanic lady" "Some white lady" "Some black lady"
I'm sure you meant nothing by it but it REALLY is a pet peeve of mine.

I honestly hated when strangers touched my pregnant belly. It was only ever old ladies though and quite honestly several of them I could tell weren't all mentally "there"

I could never smack an elderly person unless I felt assaulted but I did feel uncomfortable.

But, I also don't have the personal space issues you do so I really can't imagine how you were feeling

I in fact love it when strangers rub on my belly. Pregnant or not.

Random PT, OP? I was kidding about liking to be rubbed on by strangers!

Don't mind me... in a silly mood. :)

Same here. You don't just blindly respect a random stranger just because they're old. Respect is earned. And she ain't earning it by putting her hands on me without permission.

I personally hate when people touch me. Whether I am pregnant or not. However, smacking an old lady's hand out of the way is a little over the top. I worked in a nursing home when I was pregnant with my first. Those old ladies would swarm around me constantly. 99% of them had some type of memory deficit and babies were the one thing that would calm them and make them happy.

Most old ladies love seeing pregnant women. They love seeing babies as well. Maybe I am a more patient caring person towards the elderly since I worked with them, and have had training on alzheimers and dementia. More than likely the lady had some type of memory loss disease. When people have these diseases they lose impulse control and do things that they normally wouldn't. Just remember you are young and have normal mental functioning. I find its just easier to humor them. You might be the only interaction or bit of positivity they had during the day. Someday you will be old and you better hope that you don't end up with memory loss and do things out of your character.

I don't understand how she was trying to steal your baby. When I read that I thought the lady actually walked by and stole your child...

Y'all make it sound like she smacked the old lady across the face lol if ANYONE old lady or not puts their hand on my belly it is most definitely getting smacked off! That is in no way disrespectful! You threw respect out the window when you assumed it was ok to touch me without asking. Just because I have a baby in my belly and babies are cute and cuddly doesn't mean my body becomes public property and personal boundaries go out the window. Same goes with touching my baby after he comes out!
