i just did a shoot last weekend and haven't had time to even touch it yet. i put the SD card in my mom's computer and part of the plastic casing broke off. it's not detecting the card is even in there.
i've dealt with corrupted/ruined SD cards before, this isn't the same thing i don't think. usually it says "card error" or something. this time, just nothing shows up.
the plastic that broke off is on the top of the SD card, not on the metal part.
is it just that that piece is needed to press against whatever in the computer/camera to let it know that it's in there? so it's not picking up that it's there? i can't think of anything else. is there a way to fix it or recover the photos? it's NOT the lock that's broken.

doesn't work there either :( that's why i think it's a problem with it not being detected.

i have my camera set to not release the shutter without a card and it says no card in camera when i try.
