Diaper issues... Any advice? Michayla08 18 kids; California 989 posts

Ok so DS is 5 months and I am yet to find a diaper that does not leak his poop 95% of the time... Pee is fine it's the poop!! The other day I was driving over to my sisters and I changed him right before we left.. She's only 15 minutes away and when we got there I went to take him out of his seat and good grief poop everywhere!!! It even leaked through his seat onto the base. I had to give him a bath. It was a large poop but I would think a diaper should hold most of it... I've tried pampers (swaddlers and baby dry), Huggies (snugglers... He's in those now terrible... And snug dry) and luvs. I've tried getting the Huggies snug dry in size 3 but around the legs seemed too big. Should I try a size 3 in a different brand? I've been using size 2. What about trying off brands like target, walmart or Costco? He's EBF and hasn't started solids so I know in the future his poop won't be as runny but until then.... Anyway sorry about the long rant!! Thanks!

Target diapers are awesome! I wish I would've known about them along time ago. I could've saved so much money!!

I used to use huggies until they started getting where they didn't even hold pee anymore. After that I tried the overnight diapers. They work really well. A larger size could make a load of difference as well.

Have you ever considered cloth? I never have poop leaks! My friend is the same way except when she has to use the occasional disposible then her dd leaks out :(

Have you thought about trying Honest diapers? It's the line Jessica Alba co-found. My daughter uses them and they are very sturdy, she has yet to leak through them and has never had a diaper rash while using them. They're amazing!

I don't know what they've done to their diapers recently, but My son who isn't potty trained yet has used huggies since he was born and they've all of a sudden become weepy. he can pee in them once and if I pick him up and put him on my hip my shirt gets all wet

I know. We used pampers with him first but he peed right through them. Then I used huggies for over a year and ended up switching to luvs back around Dec because huggies seemed like they weren't holding as much. I started having to change him every 1-2 hours. Went through twice as many diapers. Overnights worked way better then huggies but not as good as luvs have worked for me. Almost every night is a dry night now!

I have actually started considering cloth.... Do you use a service or just was everything on your own?

All on my own. I do laundry like every 3 days maybe. I also do cloth wipes (which are wash cloths and cut up shirts and socks lol). Youcan customize your cloth to meet your needs. There's spammy styles and prices there's something for EVERYONE!!!
