Is cross cutting more painful?
DD has her two bottom teeth and she did really good with them, but now she is getting one of her canines and she is having a hard time, she is not herself at all :(

Quoting nursemaya (28weeks):" what is cross cutting?"

Normally babies get their two bottom teeth and then the top ones.
Cross cutting is where they come in random places, foe example DD only has her two bottom teeth, but instead of getting her top ones next, she is getting a canine.

DD seemed to do better when her teeth came in at random. Now that she is getting them in when she is supposed to, she's having a harder time. We have 2 canines and 4 molars to go...

The canines are some of the worst ones. DD has 8 front teeth and 3 molars. They don't always come in the designated order. She skipped her canines so I was saved those for a little while. Everyone thinks she will have all of her teeth by her first birthday

My DD actually got her four top teeth first before she got her bottom ones and she did a lot worse with those than she did the bottom. I didn't even realize she was cutting her bottom ones until she was nibbling on my finger lol.

Never heard of timing making a difference, just eye teeth being really hard for some. My kids never had issues with teeth
