Contractions or what? ☮Hippie Jesus☮ 2 kids; West Virginia 10560 posts

Period-like cramping... especially in my back. Occasional tightening, but not with every single cramp.

Are these contractions?

Whether real or not, I guess I'll find out if they get stronger... But does it sound like contractions or just discomfort of week 37?

Have you tried timing them?

Quoting Miss Brittany:" Have you tried timing them?"

I just got back from town, so I'll start doing that... Haven't really tried to pay close attention to the time yet.

time them and try different ways of sitting/laying to see if it changes anything. could be the start of contractions, mine always start with dull pains in the back then work its way to my abdomen. but then again I've had back labor with both of my kiddos.

So far the ones I've timed have been

2:47
2:52
2:55
2:58
3:02

And I've been back and forth between laying on my left side and sitting up. They hurt more when I'm sitting up.. ouch.

I've already been to L&D twice this pregnancy and sent home both times (obviously)... Both times I went, it was after I had been having what I thought were somewhat intense contractions for a few hours. So this makes me not even want to go until I'm leaking fluid or there is some sure sigh, kwim? Urghhh... So if they last over an hour, when do I go? I'm an hour away from the hospital...

been there, done that. don't hesitate to go in, my son was out within 6 minutes from getting to the ER. im lucky I didn't have him on the way. keep timing them, if the next few are still EXACTLY three minutes apart, I would go ahead and get ready to go. Good luck. (:
