I am home alone and I just fell down my stairs, I twisted my ankle inward and it hurts, I mean really friggin hurts!
Its a little swollen but not bruised, I put it up and iced it, I can move it but barely, Im not sure if its sprained or broken and I have no way to the hospital right now.
What do I do?
I stepped off a curb about a month ago and twisted my ankle wicked. I couldn't even move it for a few hours, the next day I could bear no weight on it (I was rolling myself around my house in a computer chair taking care of the kids, or crawling). It took almost two weeks before I could bear good weight on it. I'm still not sure there's not a hairline crack in there somewhere, but I can walk 99.9% normally on it, it just hurts if it gets hit a certain way or if I step wrong and jar it hard. What really helped me was the ice, and wrapping it with an Ace bandage (the stretchy beige one). I was told if you can't move it at all or if you can't move your toes it might be broken, but I could move mine (albeit with a lot of pain at first). It's not bruised now, but you can probably expect it to bruise within the next two days.
Wrap sliced raw potatoes up in a ace bandage around your ankle .
Thanks for your help ladies, I found someone to take me to the hospital, hairline fracture :(

Damn. Now I'm scared I have one too lol but honestly, what would they really do for it? I hope you heal quickly though!

They gave me Vicodin for the pain, and an air cast and crutches ( which are surprisingly difficult to use).
Thanks I hope so too, I babysit and I have 2 kids so I dont really have time to not be able to walk LOL
