Hi ladies. My doctor prescribed me zofran at my 10 week appt a couple days ago because I've been really sick and had lost a few pounds. I was prescribed 8mg every 12 hours. My question is this, did zofran not help anyone? It has cut back on the actual vomiting, but hasnt helped with the nausea really at all. Just curious.

I am currently 14 wks & 4 days prego & have had terrible morning sickness this entire time & it is not getting better. My doctor also gave me zofran & it stopped my vomiting but only the nausea for about 2 hrs. It also gave me bad headaches. So far nothing has really worked for me.

It made me feel a little better, but it wasn't worth it when I couldn't poop for days and got horrible stomach aches.

I never took anything with my first and I was more nauseous with him. I dont think Im going to keep using it, except for maybe occasions when I really dont want to be throwing up.

Wow.... I'm surprised to hear it didnt work so well for most. It was a freaking LIFESAVER for me both pregnancies. Granted, I had issues with pooping, but I'll take that ANY DAY over the horrible nausea and vomiting I had. Feel better, OP

That's pretty much what Zofran does. Curbs the vomiting but does nothing for the nausea.

Weird. Took my nausea completely away for like 4-5 hours.

You are lucky! Nothing touched my nausea. Except Phenergan that would work one magical time and then do nothing. But yeah, for most Zofran doesn't do much for nausea.

It help some but I only took it for a week and a half. It was worth the constipation and headaches!

I am a LPN, working in the ER and I love Zofran!!! It should help with your vomiting and nausea, but you have to eat with it and drink water!! That is the key! Part of nausea and vomiting is from your blood sugar dropping ... I know food isn't the most appealing but a little nibble will help out for sure. Also, spearmint gum/ mints when should help curb nausea, too! Not that all vomiting and nausea is curable as it is different for everyone! Good Luck :)
