This is most likely going to sound stupid especially since I've had 3 kids(this one being my 4th) but I swear with this one even though it's been 5 yrs since my last child, I seem to have forgotten everything...Anyways enough babbling,sorry.......Does passing a very large chunk of mucus plug tinged/colored pinkish red warrant a call to L&D? . And does it mean actual active labor is imminent or a day to a couple days away?
Little background info if it might help: Been having consistent contractions for almost a week now and have went into L&D twice for contractions that were 2-3 minutes apart and about an 8 on the pain scale. Due to not making any dilation progress(had stayed at 1 1/2 cm's) they sent me home. Since then I had been checked by my doctor and baby is now engaged, cervix was at 2 cm very soft and thinned out. Doc said she gives it maybe a week at most. This happened earlier this evening(passing the pinkish/red tinged mucus plug I mean) and since yesterday baby has had a noticeable decrease in activity.. Hope the info helps and again sorry if this is a silly question. My mind is just drawing a blank and I prefer not to google as I've freaked myself out over simple stuff before.lol Thanks in advance :)
It sounds like your bloody show, which means your body is definitely preparing itself. You could go into labor very soon or it could take a few days or so.

I am in the same boat as you. I passed my mucus plug last night and for the past 4 days now I have had contractions pretty much all day. They come and go. Even now I am having one and I feel a ton of pressure in my lower abdomen. Baby has even decreased in movement like you explained. At my last appt on the 4th I was 2 cm and 75% effaced and baby was engaged. My doc went on vacation this past week so I haven't been checked since the 4th. I have an appt Tuesday. I don't quite think I will make it til then. Good luck mama!
