The blood clots would really concern me. I've had blood drip from there and it turned out to be a parasite.

I would suggest going to the ER.

If clots are coming out of your rectum I was say its a cause for concern and to go see a doctor

Do you have a nurseline you can call either through your local hospital or insurance provider? I'd be borderline thinking hospital because I'd be worried that it is hard to tell hwo much actual blood loss you are having if it's clotting versus draining...so it makes it hard to see what the real volume is. I would definitely be calling the Dr in the morning if not tonight. My mom has Diverticulitis & blood clots is not a normal part of that, at all.

I would probably call a health line and ask about it, it seems kinda borderline to me. How big were the clots? Like the size of your fist or the size of a quarter, or the size of a golf ball, etc.? To me that would be the determining factor. When I went in to have my hemorrhoids removed I was told that they had all p*******d and it was a good thing I was getting them removed as they can bleed to the point of causing minor hemorrhages.

quarter. Not too big.

That's what sucks is I just signed up on my husband's insurance and i'm not covered until July. So I would only have the option of the hospital which sucks because I wont have the 600 plus dollars it will cost me to go.

UGH this sucks.

Maybe I'll just wait it out.

The last time something similar to this happened I called the nurse hotline and went to the hospital like they suggested and it was a rhoid so now I'm like dang do i go or stay and see what happens. This sucks.

It was for my dad. That's what got him to go to the hospital was passing clots and lots of blood. He had to have 5 blood transfusions because of it.

His mother and uncle have it and now him so naturally I'm just freaking because I know it is a possibility seeing as it has already been passed between family members.

In that case I would likely wait it out for a couple of days provided it doesn't get any worse. Meanwhile eat a crap load of fibre, take metamucil 3 times daily and colace 1 or 2 times daily to make things flow easily without strain.

See nurse lines usually always suggest hospital ... So really you could wait till morning unless you feel dizzy or like something is horrible

and plus it's also a very 'bleedy' sort of area in a misleading sort of way, you can get what seems like a lot blood when really it's not as much as it looks like nor is it having the impact on your body that you might think. I had to rectally loose enough blood to fill a sitz bath twice before I started to feel dizzy, so I think it must take a lot from that are to really worry.

It could be a internal hemorrhoid. I had one and freaked out. I went to my doctor and she pretty much laughed at me because I was freaking out so much. She told me that sometimes clots do come out with hemorrhoids and unless I was gushing blood it's nothing to worry about. I was so embarrassed lol. I would wait it out.
