Quoting Lyssa Sanders:" just because you think its gross doesnt mean a baby will. my first born loved the baby food. "

Taste isn't the issue, what makes it gross is that it's processed garbage. I feed my child real food.

Never its disgusting and full of crap they dont need. They eat the same things I eat and we started around 5.5/6 months. She has fed herself from day 1. The only thing I feed her is a greek yogurt.

I didn't even do that. Freeze the yogurt, let it sit out about half an hour or so before hand, break it up into manageable chunks that baby can pick up but melt in his/her mouth. :) Sure, it's messy, but most of BLW is messy.

Sure, I get that. My son was untrusting of spoons for a while. It was kind of funny, his face like, "wtf are you trying to do to me?!"

She gets that face anytime there is anything but yogurt on the spoon. She is 16 months now and can use a fork and spoon pretty good though.

Purees at 4 months and then finger foods at 5 months. 6 months table food. We've pretty much cut out all the purees and he's been eating what we eat. He's 10.5 months.

okay, did i ever once say jarred baby food from the store? no, you can make your own baby food just like that without all the gross stuff in it! stop putting words in my mouth that i never even said. and i never said replacing it. some babies are still hungry after having formula, that's what baby food is there to help. so they don't drink TOO much. they can get upset stomachs. that's what happened with my frist. i didn't write this to start any issues. i was just asking how other people do it. but obviously this site is nothing but rudeness nowadays and no possitive feedback.

Defensive much. Calm down sweetheart it's nothing to get your panties in a twist about. Current recommendation is 6 months for solids of any kind without a medical reason.
