Or a dead giveaway that you've gained some self confidence?

Op i wouldn't loan her anything and next time she says something remind her that you guys always have the dough to bail her ass out.

I totally know how you feel, MIL is so in our financial business.

I had to delete her off my FB because I couldn't share any new purchases or talk about going out to dinner without getting lectured. When we drive to her house (6 hours) and are on the road during meal time we usually get subway and she freaks out if we show up with any leftovers - like we're suppose to pack a 3 course meal or starve? When we get new jobs she harasses us to tell her how much money we're making. We "can't afford" anything according to her... At Christmas time she sad SO and I down to tell us we can't have a baby because we can't afford it - which of course was welcomed with a nice spazz out, courtesy of me lol. I called her a meddling mom and told her to mind her own business. Everytime we talk on Skype or the phone she's lecturing us - we also never ask her for money or help with anything because we don't need it.

HOWEVER we told her we're moving across the country and she was happy for us with no money lecture... then we traded in our new car for a newer more expensive vehicle for this trip and she said it was a good idea. So how she figures a $20.00 take out meal and $100 drive to her house compares to a $45,000 move and vehicle I'll never f**king know. I just... don't get it LOL

So now I have to tell SO to not tell her ANYTHING regarding money because it's personal. I have to "monitor" their phone conversations because she legit tricks him into giving her the info she wants. So ridiculous.

WOW! Some people just don't know when to shut up! lol. that's beyond ridiculous... I think if MIL ever went as far as to tell us what we can and can't afford.. I'd just lose it, for real.

Omg I have... I legit have at least one major meltdown on her a year lol

A couple years ago when I was staying over I put DD to bed early because she was overtired. She spazzed the entire time I was getting her ready then passed out within a minute. So I went to play video games with SO and MIL comes downstairs and tells (and I quote) "she didn't need to go to bed... you put her there all the time so you can play games... you love video games more than her."

I freaked out LOL. Last year was the Christmas incident over money. This years one is coming... I can feel it lol.

Sorry I feel like I hijacked this thread ahaha

Makes no sense! I'd like to think when my daughter becomes an adult I'll have taught her how to live/save/spend etc. I don't think I'd be meddling or concerned anymore than a normal person who wants the best for their kid. It's so rude and inappropriate for someone to be in your business like that... lol
