My ex fights every time we've gone. First I was getting $50 a month and wanted an increase, he tried to fight me and I settled on $100. That was a few years ago. Then a few months ago we went for another increase and he tried arguing again. It got increased to $200. I could technically take him back again already because he went from being laid off to working. But now he's trying to play games and is working pretty much under the table. He gets a 1099 at the end of the year but I have to find out where he works so domestic relations will make his employer take out the support.

Basically, if he wants to fight you then you usually see a mediation person. Talk about what you each make and how much time the child(ren) is with each of you. Here if you can't agree, then you see a judge who looks over the info and usually rules for him to pay the maximum amount they can take. If you have daycare costs, insurance, etc that can be factored into the support.
