Homemade dinners, with veggies on the side (not in it) "L" 2 kids; Danville, Indiana 5901 posts

I'm trying to cook more homemade dinners here but I dislike fruits and vegetables so i'm trying to think of ways that my family (daughters and bf) can still get theirs. So far we make stuff like: meatloaf, hamburgers, tacos, spaghetti, shake n bake chicken, homemade pizza (like a few times a year because the ingredients are so expensive), a chicken penne pasta, one of my dads stirfrys (which surprisingly has egg and green onions in it which don't bother me because I can't taste them)... theres more but I can't think of it... What other recipes are good that don't include veggies IN it, but as side dishes instead?

You don't eat fruit OR veggies?? What do you eat? How are you still alive? lol
But to answer your question, you can serve veggies as a side dish to anything...

I'm asking for recipes.. Like main dishes that don't have veggies in them. Such as pastas, new ways to flavor meats, and veggie side dishes.

I put balsamic glaze on everything... lol

Also, homemade pizza is dirt cheap (minus the cheese) but still cheap in comparison to takeout... don't know where you buy your ingredients lol

I know you can serve them with anything.. I was asking for recipes for good ways to season meats:chicken, beef, pork etc and for maybe pasta recipes and stuff like that.

And I don't know.. I'm average weight and dr. said i'm seemingly healthy.. Never been in the hospital for myself except for my twin pregnancy in the beginning. I eat potatoes and like when onions, green onions, and other veggies that season stuff are in my food but not like greenbeans, corn (can tolerate it), etc

Lol dough cost like $1-2, sauce like $1-2, sausage like $2-3, cheese like $3-5, and sometimes pepperoni ($2-3) so like $9-15 which is expensive compared to tacos, spaghetti, etc.. i'm pretty cheap lol

make your own dough and sauce. You can make your own sauce and freeze it.

Chili, pierogies, lemon pepper chicken, Italian chicken, BBQ chicken, fiesta chicken and rice bake, chicken pork or beef with steak rub on it, beef or pork roast, chicken alfredo, lasagna, shepherds pie, mashed potatoes and ground meat gravy.

Lol that's basically all I eat. I hate fruit and veggies too. Corn I'll eat but nothing else really. I'm a meat and potatoes kinda girl for sure. SO hates it but I make him veggies since he likes them. Sometimes I'll try a casserole or something with veggies and pick around them but it's a pain in the butt.

Oh my gosh, thankfully someone else on here understands where i'm coming from! Thank you for not making me feel like an alien! :D

Yeah my boyfriend likes some fruits and veggies so we get them occasionally but most of the time he won't make them or tell me what he likes so I can make them. He just doesn't care. But we do make sure the girls get theirs :)

Thank you for the list. It helps me a bit with ideas!

No problem! Lol yeah I've tried so hard to like those things but I can't. I like smoothies but for some reason eating the fruit whole is not good.
