So tonight my daughter (2.5yo) was climbing on the couch like all 2year olds do, And before I could tell her to stop. She fell off and face planted the corner of the coffee table. It was almost like slow motion watching it happen, and totally broke my heart. She cried for maybe 3minutes then said it was all better. Though about 5minutes after she had a goose egg on her head, but in the goose egg is like a dent.. I've seen multiple goose eggs and what but this one is so different, I called my best friend who's a nurse and she told me to do the normal... you know ice and watch her... but you try getting a 2yo to keep ice on her head..... I got out the mini flashlight and kept checking her pupils and they were reacting normally. Then she wanted to go to bed, I know I know. thats a huge no no... but in her defense it was her regular bedtime.. I tried keeping her awake but i couldn't.. So now I'm checking on her periodically. But my mommy gut feeling is telling me to get it checked out.....

but like I said She was acting herself, walking straight, eating and doing her thing before she went to sleep after it happened......

WWYD?

Here it is about 10minutes after.

I've always heard that if it was a dent instead of it standing out then it needs to be checked out. I could be wrong though but I am pretty sure that's what i've heard. Poor girl :(

Same here, I've always been told if it swells inwards instead of outwards to get it looked at.

It's kind of hard to tell what's going on in the picture but I'd probably get her checked out just to be safe.

If she is acting fine and everything I wouldn't worry just keep an eye on her. If she gets lethargic or stops acting normal then I would get her in.

My mother told me of a story of how I had fallen off a very tall slide at a park they didn't monitor really for safety till after we moved and the slide was removed and replaced with a smaller non rusty metal one, I had fallen off the stairs backward onto a slab of concrete and ended up with something similar to what your describing and it turned out that I had a concussion despite acting normally until later on. I cried ridiculously though. I would probably have it checked out, since it wouldn't hurt to double check. But then that's just me being paranoid. Hope she's doing well/better. Poor girl.

same exact thing happened to my lo, except in the middle of her forehead.. i rushed her to the hospital but they refused to do x-rays. i was scared she might have cracked her scole since it went flat. but they just said keep icing it.
