Here's the deal....I already have a bunk bed for my son but I don't want to move him in his own room for a couple years....so I want to put a smaller toddler bed for nap time in our room near our bed.

Can you lay down in a toddler bed with your baby? Is there enough room?

I am tiny myself 5'1 and skinny....

Do/have you laid with your baby to get them to sleep in the toddler bed?

You're tiny, you'll fit in a toddler bed.

A toddler bed just uses a crib mattress, can you fit on a crib mattress with him?

are you planning on teaching him to sleep without you? This is quite a habit you could be getting yourself into.

well to be honest even if your tiny you might exceed the weight limit of a toddler bed. I think it's like a crib, under 100 lbs. so you could fit on the mattress but purt strain on the bed it's self thus making it unsafe.

No but I want to start.....Its been me either nursing him or rocking him to sleep for naps forever.

I figured get him used to the new mattress then transition.

id greab the bull by the ears and transition him to being fed then placed in his big boy bed.

babies are resilient. They are much tougher then we give them credit for. IMO self soothing an the ability for a child to be secure enough to fall asleep on their own is a huge benefit.
but Im not a believer in co-sleeping, if its best for you and him then by all means continue. But if you want him to sleep on his own, just do it, you dont need to wait for mercury and venus to line up changing the sky to a pale shade of plaid lol...just do it :)

I am 5'2 and fat and I lay in my dds to read with her, she is 16 months old. and she is tiny. I have a floor bed though a small wood frame on the floor and her mattres on top with a rail.

W share a room cause its only a 2 bedroom and my other girls share a room.
