Quoting Adriana's Mami♥ +1:" <blockquote><b>Quoting **mummyX2.5**:</b>" 37 weeks is considered full term and if ... [snip!] ... date is an estimate. Your cousin's baby was ok doesn't mean every baby is ok coming early, the last few weeks are important."

Im not saying its ideal to have a baby at 37 weeks or that you should be induced for no reason that early but to say have fun visiting your baby in nicu is a bit rediculous chances are it wont end up in nicu if its born at 38 weeks.

Op has not said why she is being induced, it's very rude and ridiculous to say 'expect a c section' or 'nicu'
Both my children were born early via induction, one 36 weeks the other almost 38.
Neither required nicu. Both were acceptable weights.
Both inductions were very painful, duh it's labour!
Both required no stitches or suction, no epidurals either.
I have two positive stories. I trusted my dr, I'm glad I did he saved my life without doubt the first time by inducing me at 36 weeks.
My own mothers life was saved by induction at 35 weeks.
My great aunt died as medicine was not what it is today and she was left to go full term.
If my inductions had not worked, I would have had c sections and a healthy baby.

A healthy baby is an outcome, the only outcome you should want.

Amy/Rory you weren't induced.

Not technically. I was merely pointing out the fact a large number of people don't actually respond to pitocin like most think. Seems everyone thinks they give it to you and Bam baby. But in reality a lot of bodies don't respond at all.
