Exercise and eating right.

Seriously. Best thing ever. Cut out processed junk, eat small amounts of healthy foods, and exercise.

If you need help starting out, something like weight watchers is good because it focuses on healthy foods in moderation

Clean acting is the only thing that has worked long term for me. I follow it 90% of the time, eating unprocessed natural meats and veggies, with only 10% being anything else (tortillas, crackers, etc). I also use myfitnesspal to track calories. It helped me lose 85lbs PP...which then of course helped to conceive baby #3 lol

Eat right and exercise. Lifestyle change, no diets.

And, if you're PP and breastfeeding, don't starve yourself and f**k up your nursing relationship.

I need something structured or the moderation goes right out the window. Know any good sites with meal plans?

We've been clean eating for a long time and I lost nothing. I started working out and still lost nothing. Maybe my genes are just a force to be reckoned with.

Here is what worked for me. Everyone is different but after 10 years of fad diets and yoyo dieting this is the only thing that truly worked. First 20 days were the hardest, after that it became habit, routine, and just a way of life. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/rachgarm

Yes. I know. Been breast feeding for 14 months, I know how much my body needs or my supply drops.

Edit: I cant starve myself anyway, I love food to much. lol

If you have HONESTLY eaten good foods in good amounts and exercised and not lost any weight there is something else going on.

I'd say the vast majority of the time people are not being honest with themselves about what they eat. I'd suggest writing down everything you eat and drink so you can see clearly what is the issue.

If you are sure you've done it all right with no change, see a Dr about running a few tests to see if something else is making you hang onto weight. Thyroid, hormones, things like that. However, again, this is usually a very slim number of people. Usually we underestimate what we are eating.

I did that minus getting tested. Everyone just says that its because I'm breast feeding. Im not so concerned with losing weight now (haven't been for the last 6 months or so) but I am newly pregnant again and terrified of gaining 76lbs again. I didn't keep track last time but I believe this time so far I'm not gaining as much, but its the PP that scares me. With my son I became very depressed since body image and weight are something ive always struggled with. I just thought if maybe after I have this baby if I had a healthy structured eating plan hopefully I wont sink as deep as last time and maybe have some hope. Ive been trying to eat very well for this pregnancy. I hope this makes sense.

For pregnancy set your calories to maintenance calories the first trimester and then put gain 1/2 lb a week for second and third (adds another 300 a day). Anything over that isn't needed, though admittedly I have been going over a lot recently (stupid cravings). If you don't want to deal with that during pregnancy that's fine too.

I had ppd after both my boys and it was hard. This last time I decided to throw my stress into my diet. It was the only thing I had control over through the chaos. It helped tremendously with my depression because it gave me something that I could be proud of. The weight loss was nice of course, but just feeling more physically able and feeling accomplished with something just helped my mental health (that and the Prozac when I stopped bfing).

Thats why im so concerned with it this time. I feel like it would help me not be so depressed.
