I wasn't aware that down syndrome people don't know what they're doing or how to function.

They're people too.

I think it's awesome. Why wouldn't/couldn't adults with special needs have children? My cousin was born with half an arm, two very small fingers on her other arm, and half of a leg. She is a mother of two, breastfed both , is a physical therapist, drives, ..everything

Uh I didn't say that. All I said was that I have never seen it before.

Uh...people with downs can function the same as any other person. This is honestly the most bizarre (and kind of offensive, though I doubt that was intentional) question I've seen on BG yet...

Down's syndrome can vary, it can be a very mild case and hardly affect their lives, if at all.

That's fantastic! I've met a few fathers who have aspergers in the past.

I seriously doubt OP meant any harm with the post...it just comes off bad.

I wouldn't say that about someone unless I assumed they don't know what they're doing.

! When you really have no idea, it's easy to offend but I'm sure she honestly didn't know.

Kay I'm just going to delete this since there's a handful of people bitching already. It was intended to offend people, I was just curious.

Maybe in the future, you can choose your wording more carefully. Especially since we do have a special needs member on here, who has been picked on from time to time.

Yeah well here is where my issue came from...I didn't know there were varying cases of downs. I knew that about autism, etc. I thought downsydrome was just like one deal.
