Not exactly hip-hop... She was vogueing.

That is NOT 100% hip hop dancing & yes I do have formal dance training through programs that I took through high school. The entire thing was inappropriate. There are ways of incorporating hip hop into a dance that don't make it look like a strip tease

Is it the dance combined with the outfit, or just one of them?

If she was dressed more modestly, would the dance still bother you?

It falls under the umbrella, sure. But not 100% and definitely not appropriate for a 10 year old.
Not saying she's not good though...

I took over 4 years actually & I never said you didn't know wtf you were talking about. It doesn't change that IMO this dance is inappropriate for a girl her age & so is the outfit. Not my kid though so not my problem

My DH watched 10 seconds of it before he said "over my dead body". My DD would never leave the house in that outfit and those dance moves.....talented as they are.....but no way in hell that young.

I'd love for Lily to dance, but not like that. Booty shaking... no. Not that young.

Yes I am trained in hip hop, though it's not my style of choice.

I'm a performer at heart and if my child was that talented she'd be doing that dance at every competition she entered... my husband could "over my dead body" me all he wanted and not one f**k would be given LOL agree to disagree I suppose.

Maybe different clothes would reflect it because I rewatched it last night & imagined a different outfit while doing so. It very much affected my thoughts on it. I believe if a different outfit had been used then more people would have seen the talent in the video although I do know that certain movements can be uncomfortable to perform in restricting clothing.

Besides the part where she turned around and shook her butt, yes, but in a different outfit. Like, a tank top and sweat pants would have been much more appropriate... I simply don't understand the thought that they have to be dressed in revealing clothes like that, she's a CHILD. Smh... I just DON'T GET THAT. Other than the outfit and the butt shaking though, I thought it was really cool.
