Mine broke at 35 weeks. It wasn't a huge gush at first, I just trickled. I was already in the hospital for weeks due to pre-term labor. Then, I wasn't progressing fast enough, so they started pitocin, & I gushed.. & gushed.. & gushed the ENTIRE time I was in labor. No idea why. It was bloody water & I refused to lay on my back so I walked around gushing fluid everywhere. It was one of the messiest labors my nurse had seen. lol. & Super annoying.

My first broke while I was asleep. I woke up with a contraction, and when I sat up.....gush!!!
My second broke in hospital half hour before I gave birth.
My second I was laying in bed thinking something was going to happen as I had my bloody show (never had it with first two) and an hour later I heard it pop.

I would rather it break on its own. It was my signal it was time...no guessing crap.

I think I liked the doctor breaking it. I wasn't freaking out and I knew what was coming. But then again, I was early when it broke the second time around so I was all worried. I might have felt different if I was full term.

I liked when it was broken for me by the doctor because I had an epidural and didn't have the 'wetness' uncomfortable feeling, but I liked it breaking on its own because then I knew it was time to have her. I had been in pre-term labor for weeks so it was always a guessing game if it was time or not..once my water broke we obviously knew.
