I plan on taking my 6 year old niece to the movies, and pretty sure my 4 year old nephew will be able to sit though it although I haven't taken him before. I was worried about my 2 year old nephew though and how he would do for 2 hours watching Monsters University, he loves Monsters Inc and from what I can tell, he can sit through the whole movie at home. Even though every child's attention span is different, how old were your LO's when you took them to the movies for the first time?

I took my son at about two and it worked out just fine. He loves the movies. Get a big thing of popcorn and divide it in small cups for them helps keep them sitting down.

DH and I took DS when he was 2. He wanted to run around inside the theatre and tried climbing over seats. We had to leave the movie early. Thankfully there was only one other family in there, but I was embarrassed.
He's 4 now and we haven't tried going again since...

We have thought about taking him to see one of the new movies coming out.

DS was about 2 when we went to the movies for the first time with him. Other than a bunch of potty breaks he sat still and watched the whole thing.

We've been taking our littles since they were newbs. For ages 1 and up, though, just make sure you have lots of snacks...candy, popcorn, etc. I limit to one drink, though (usually a smuggled in juice pouch) because I don't want a million bathroom breaks.

My DD was 2 when I took her to see Alice in Wonderland.

The youngest I've taken them has been 9 months. She went with us to see Harry Potter and sat quietly.

Yeah I know we will need some sort of snacks in order to keep them down lol. So you think I should try it?

Haha, thats what I fear happening. Especially since if we had to leave, all of us would have to leave and I know my niece would throw a big fit about having to leave the movies.

I couldn't imagine me bringing my 9 month old daughter along with us, there is no way the show off would be quiet the entire time!

Mine always were...in act, they were easier as infants because the loud noise and dark room put them right to sleep.
