Exactly! She can do as she pleases...no one HAS to pay any attention to her.

If my girls were to be fans, I'd just keep them from seeing the direction Miley has gone. But they can't stand her, which entertains me. :D

I guess I am just shocked at to the level of her "growing up" i seen pictures and what not, didnt think they were all that bad and so what she got a new hairstyle, but this is quite a bit much.

I don't understand the uproar when an artist has grown and wants to Target an older audience. They did it with Britney, Christina, etc. what's the problem? She's aged, "matured". Just because her past is Disney that doesn't mean her future needs to be.

It's a music video FFS. I've seen worse from more popular artists. Just because she acts a certain way in a music video doesn't mean that she is like that in real life. I think you are WAY to concerned with how she is living her life.

I don't see it as a big deal. She's an adult now. And many other artists have done damn near the same stuff.

Maybe she's doing what she WANTS to do, not because it will gain attention. I hadn't heard about that song or video until just now. Then again, I don't care what anyone, celebrity or other wise, does with their life as long as it doesn't affect me.

I am more concerned in the image she is setting for young children who idolize her.

Then just don't let your kids listen to her/watch her.

Personally, I love new Miley and think she's 100% babe.

That being said, I wouldn't let my daughter listen or watch any of her new music videos at a young age.

Just because young girls idolize her, doesn't mean she has to change who she is.

Is Miley really all that relevant to young girls at the moment? I mean, last time I turned on Nick Jr or Disney it's people like Zendaya, Bella Thorn, Sam and Cat, Miranda Cosgrove, Bridget Mendler who are dominating the pre-teen scene.

Miley disappeared for a few years and isn't even on the pre-teen scene. If your kid is watching or listening to her currently, then that is your shitty ass fault as a parent for not monitoring what your kids listen to or watch. She's not on Disney, she's right there next to Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

:!:
But she'll always be seen as Hannah Montana to some people and those are the ones who are 'disgusted' by how she is now. To each their own but I see no issue. Not like she's masturbating in public.

off topic, but my favorite part of the video is all of the product placement.

With all this said, I agree Miley had to grow up. I don't know if the extremity of it is because it's who she actually is now, or if she is in fact, trying to shock people and get more attention. I can't say, I Don't know her.
I'm a nerd, I used to watch Hannah Montana with my oldest and I liked it. I also have liked most of MILEY'S music as well, not all because not all of her music is really my taste.
My daughter has heard the new song of hers, but when she came over to try and watch the video, I definitely switched tabs on my browser. The video is definitely NOT appropriate for the age she used to target. LOL. But like I stated before she's not Hannah Montana anymore and she most certainly isn't Disney Miley anymore.
