If your LO had hand, foot and mouth disease how long did it last? What did you do to make them more comfortable?

I can't really remember but I don't think it lasted very long at all.

We were told it could last up to ten days. I really hope it doesn't last that long :(

My nephew had it, and he only missed like 3 days of daycare because it cleared up over the weekend. The last of the rash took a few more days to really heal all the way, but it was all crusted over and supposedly not contagious anymore.

DD JUST had it. She started acting sick on Thursday, stopped eating and sleeping on Friday and wouldn't let us in her mouth. We noticed the sores on Sunday and they are gone today and she's eating and sleeping like normal. She still has a rash on her butt but it's clearing up fast.

Did she run a fever? DD woke up from her nap on monday with a fever of 101 and slowly started getting a rash yesterday in her mouth and on her hands and feet. Today almost 25% of her body is covered in a rash and she doesn't want to eat or sleep. I hate not being able to help her other than tylenol and motrin.

Yeah she had a fever Friday, Saturday, Sunday. She didn't get it that bad, she only has a rash on her diaper area and the sores in her mouth. They only thing we were able to do was the Tylenol, Motrin, and then bland food and only water. The hardest part for us was the no sleeping :( She waited every night until she couldn't even hold her head up anymore and she was STILL fighting sleep.

For the rash, the drs prescribed us 'magic butt cream' which is helping a lot but our insurance didn't cover it so it was $30 for a little 6 oz jar lol
