If I dont get one by the end of the week they are talking about a cath. UGGG just one sample kid come on. I have the potty in the living room she wont even sit on it.

Maybe let her run around naked, watch her until she starts peeing and have the a cup ready?

I even asked the doctor and she said they dont have them. Its pee in the cup or cath. I wonder if I could make my own baggie somehow.

Put her on the toilet facing the back. Run the tub & let it fill. While she sits there tell her to use her stomach muscles, making it a silly game. She should start to pee hearing the water & using those muscles.

Sounds typical for a 16 month old. You'll get it by the end of the week...it will be when you're least expecting it.

She's really young to expect that :(
I hope she ends up going on the potty for you

I had a similar issue last year with my son

She wont sit on it. She arches her back and kicks and screams and throws herself all over the place. Big potty or toddler potty doesn't matter.

You could try to make your own

Urine collection - infants refers to the method of getting a urine sample from a baby for testing purposes. It is usually done in a doctor's office, but can be done at home.
How the Test is Performed

Thoroughly wash the area around the urethra using soap, or cleansing wipes that your health care provider gave you. Clean from the front to the back on a female infant, and from the tip of the p***s down on a male infant.
You will be given a special bag to collect the urine. It will be a plastic bag with a sticky strip on one end, made to fit over your baby's genital area. Open this bag and place it on the infant.

  • For males, place the entire p***s in the bag and attach the adhesive to the skin.
  • For females, place the bag over the labia.

Put a diaper securely over the bag. For active infants, this procedure may take a couple of attempts -- lively infants can displace the bag.
Check your baby often and remove the bag after the infant has urinated into it.
Drain the urine into a sterile container and give it to the health care provider as directed. Do not touch the inside of the cup or lid. If at home, place the container in a plastic bag in the refrigerator until you return it to your health care provider.

Thanks. DH says she always pees in the tub so im going to attempt that tonight as well. I so dont want to cath her. My oldest needed one at 2 and it caused a lot of issues with potty training and such.

She had it done at 7 weeks old but then it didn't phase her. I have her big sister showing her how to use the potty and I did get her to sit for like 30 seconds only fussing so that's some progress

Get her naked in the bathroom, run the water, and tickle her!

And be fast with the cup!

DD LOVES to pee in the cup! At that age she did it best standing with the cup between her legs... she thinks it's a blast! maybe you pee in a cup in front of her and make it fun vs a chore? GL... I'm so lucky she always gives samples and never needed to be cathed for one! ouch...
