Quoting Supafly★:" I've gotten "What is wrong with him?" before. It's really sad because he isn't even that small. He's ... [snip!] ... the other, he must have some type of sickness. No, b***h, it's called eating healthy and running around outside."

omg! really? i mean DD isn't REALLY small but at almost 13 months, most people think she's like 8 or 9 months old. they act like i'm harming her by letting her walk around and have gotten comments for having shoes on her.

Yeah my mom didn't believe me until she took her in Sam's with her. She could not understand why people made that big of a deal outta her being little. I can't believe people asked you what was wrong with your son. I don't know about him, but their problem must be diarrhea of the mouth.

I have the same problem, my kid will be 3 in October and is 24 pounds. She's only gained 2 pounds since she learned to walk/run at 11 months old. She eats very well and big portions but she never stops moving during the day and doesn't even nap.

We don't have that problem, my little hardly eats at all. She's been getting better, but she still prefers breastmilk over any actual food. (Still not gaining weight though, no matter how much she eats.)

I sometimes wonder if she has undiagnosed digestive issues or could possibly be diabetic, but so far it's not a big enough thought to take us to the doctor. Sigh. We are so sick and tired of doctor visits. For almost a year we went about every two weeks for weight checks for both of them, and nothing mattered in the end. She's tiny, he's huge, we're just comfortable with it now.

it comes a point where you just throw your hands up and just say "that's just who they are!". for like 6 months, our pedi kept going on and on about FTT. finally at her 9 month appt he said "she's just perfectly healthy". guess he finally accepted that she's just gonna be a little peanut.

Lara was labeled FTT for a while. Actually, honestly, I'm not sure if they ever took that bit off. We are just so sick of them telling us there is something wrong with her when clearly she's healthy and just petite. Sigh.

i think they're all idiots. you can't expect a basketball player out of short parents (don't know about you but i am) or when you've got a parent with a high metabolism it shouldn't be such a shock when you've got a really skinny kid.

DD is small for her age in both weight and height and we just get the "she's so little" comments. Especially when their 12 month old is taller and wider lol. Nothing as rude as these other poor ladies have gotten.

Lily has 3 cousins who are at least 6 months or more younger than her, yet they all 3 weigh as much if not more than her and only lack a few inches to be as tall as her...

Yeah, Kallee was said to have FTT, so that combined with peoples comments really had me stressed for a while. Luckily my WIC office was really nice, supportive and drove it home that I was doing nothing wrong. I was afraid to mention she was said to have FFT because I had only heard of it in cases of neglect/malnutrition.

My youngest is almost 2 and has a cousin that was born a week and a half later than her. It's so funny to see the two of them stand next to each other because her cousin looks like she would be the older one and not just by a few weeks...but several months. When she was a baby, I used to get crap from her dr about her weight but there was nothing I could do. I stopped her on BF like he wanted and switched her onto the high calorie formula. She just doesn't gain weight well even today. I always felt like I was such a bad mom when it came to my two girls' weight and height. I feel like my body did them such a dis service by not allowing them to grow right. :/
