male OBs point of view D&D dream 2 kids; Linz, Ob, Austria 59810 posts

I thought this "article"/blog/comment was fascinating. What do you think?

summary:
A male Dr. says that male OBs enjoy looking at naked women during their exams and tell more attractive women that they should come in more often than they really need to. He thinks women should never go to a male OB for their pelvic exams. (but really, if you just read it, it's more than that .. very interesting IMO)

My Dad said he met a male OB who openly admitted this to him and my uncle. IDK, I had all of my appointments with a female OB but I delivered with a male OB. My delivery was so hectic and painful and there were so many people assisting that I didn't really have the ability to even notice if he was a creeper. Plus I highly doubt I looked attractive during my delivery lol

I've only ever had male gynocologists/obs. There aren't that many women drs around where I'm at, and its never bothered me. Honestly I could give a crap less what he's thinking while he's doing my exam, as long as he doesn't DO anything innapropriate.

reading this makes me SO mad at my last OB. We moved when I was just a few weeks pg with my 2nd son, so I didn't have a lot of time to find a new OB. The one that was recommended to me (female, actually the one I am with now) had a long waiting list and I need to see someone right away since I was pg and hadn't been seen yet.

So my husband found someone that was recommended by some of the ladies he works with (he's a physical therapist). Well long story short, I did NOT have a good experience and he said I had to have a pelvic exam at EVERY pg check-up (luckily they only do 5 in Austria and the last one I scheduled with the hospital instead of him. AND I got a UTI from all those exams, which I have never, ever gotten before (or after).

Luckily, you just get somebody random when you deliver at the hospital so I never had to see him again. :x

Personally, for the amount of disgusting things that must have to see/touch/smell on a daily basis, I don't think a couple nice vaginas would make it worth it for me.

My OBGYN is a male. My last one was a male.
I have to say, that my male OB's have asked to do internal exams A LOT LESS than my female ones. The PA is a female and she sees me for most of my visits. If I say I have cramps or anything at all she is quick to tell me to whip down my pants so she can make sure my cervix is closed. LOL. If it's the male doctor, he will refrain at all costs!

Also, the male doctors are a lot more gentle. Probably because they are male and feel they need to be more careful so not to get a lawsuit.

I have NEVER once thought that any of my male doctors were all that interested in my vagina. If they were... whatever... they are men.... it's to be expected. As long as they aren't doing exams unnecessarily, than I don't see the big deal. Hell, half the time my husband was in the room when they did the exams,.

If I had to look at dicks as my profession I would hate it. One of my best friends is an OB and he tells me all the time "Why would I want to take my favorite thing to do and then make it work? Now I feel like when I get in a vagina I need to be checking for health issues, not enjoying it"

I do not believe that the majority of OB/GYNS get a thrill out of doing the exams.

I love my male OB.

And if a guy gets off looking at dilated cervix, STD filled vaginas, and bloody pads... Then I I think he has bigger issues. I mean really who becomes a doctor to get a bonor during a breast exam, it would be much cheaper to go to the strip club.

Yeah same here. I also don't think the majority of OB actually think that way. I be it's just a very select few.

This too, haha. I would be scared of vagina after seeing some of the shit I'm sure they see.

my primary OB is a male and I've never gotten a creeper vibe from him yet so I'll stick with him lol plus majority of the time my husband is with me so I never feel uncomfortable. idk though it's not like every woman that goes to the gyno is hot so i don't think I'd risk the nasty ones  bit then again men are weird creatures so who knows LOL

Idk what to think about that. Attractive women dont always have attractive vaginas, and docs only see the vag and part of the butt/crack. My doc was young and attractive but he was always in and out, and I considered myself attractive and slender at 140 lbs and in early 20s. But really it wouldnt bother me as long as they stay professional. I mean, if I was to do an exam on a muscled attractive man, id certainly have thoughts (yummy!) In my head. But I wouldnt act on them or make my patient uncomfortable. Id value my paycheck more than that.

Eh my doctor is a guy. He also delivered my youngest and he's my boys doctor too. He sees the whole family and I completely trust him.
