my 3 yr old is so f**king difficult to put to bed i could gauge my eyes out.
EVERY NIGHT he gets out of bed countless times, gets into stuff, wanders etc.
He's a nightmare!

He has the SAME routine every night, he knows when bed time is coming, at first i thought it was cause of naps but then i took naps away and it didn't change a thing.
Idk what to do anymore .. im at a loss.

Do you discipline him when he gets out of bed?

Does he eat or drink before bed?

Lo doesnt eat or drink anything a couple hours before bed, he doesnt have his tv on only a night light and he will lay there until he falls asleep every now and then he screams mommy but only to tell me he loves me lol

My youngest is like that.
It's got to the point I take her to go pee, and then put her into bed and lean a babygate across her bedroom door. She plays until she crashes.

If my kids are constantly getting out of bed, I make them stand in time out. Sometimes I only have to threaten time out, and they go right back. They surprisingly would rather be in bed.

Is he maybe too wound up to fall asleep? I'd make sure he doesn't watch any t.v. near bedtime, give him a bath, and then read to him so he's calm. Everytime he gets up just take him back and tell him it's bedtime, give him a hug and kiss and lay him back down. Is he scared maybe? Do you go back periodically to check on him?

I do punish him if he gets out of bed. I even lay with him every night before bed and rub his back for a few minutes to help him wind down.
Its like this with nap times as well, it's become so draining i dread bed/nap time.

He isn't scared i just don't understand. If i ask him why he's getting out of bed he just stares at me... it's so annoying.

Tell him if he gets out of bed he won't get a back rub the next day and that you will not lay with him.

We take away story/song time if DD is being bad.

I also might try the time out thing.
This ish is getting ridiculous.

He co slept for 2 yrs but he also hasn't co-slept in three months soooo ... i don't think it's just habit anymore. or a comfort thing for him.
I even bought him a new bigger bed that he LOVES
