Always IGNORE the ladies at WIC. Especially if the doctor hasn't said anything. A two year old still has some baby fat. DD has done most of her slimming out after she turned 3.

They tell me I need to cut her juice back to one glass a day when I even said the ONLY time we give her two-three glasses is when she is constipated. DD has chronic constipation, but is otherwise completely healthy.

oh i understand that. in Iowa, you go into one room and they ask you a bunch of questions, then you go see A social worker in another room, and she ask all the same questions, then a lady from VNA comes and asks ALL the Questons AGAIN.

When i got WIC, i appreciate it.. but it was one hell of a headache.

Quoting .Colleen.:" Damn, you're all hating on WIC and all they do is try to help :? smh"

Yes but their advice should never be substituted for a doctors, if a doctor is concerned about a child's weight they will say something. I never ignore them to be rude, I just never trust their advice because they have always been wrong. And their advice often contraindicates what I have learned in Nursing school.

Oh wow, it isn't that bad up here. They ask the questions once. What is VNA?

They do the dental checks and they ask a ton of personal questions about relationships and the father of your children.

Our WIC also measures and weighs different then out pedis and I've talked to them about it lol. They just said its the way things are set up, so I just kind of ignore it and go by what WIC says.

Wow I love the WIC office here. When we had concerns about DD's weight gain (well, lack of) they made us feel like they were in our corner, even when her pedi and nutristionist/GA did not. The head WIC office mgr even gave me her personal number for if I had any concerns about her eating, and let me come in for a weight check whenever. I didn't mind waiting a while since they seemed to help us and understand way more than anyone else. The advice that I recieved was well worth answering questions by multiple people, and I am greatful for not only the food supplement but also their advice and support. I hate that not everyone has the same experience as I have had. I asked WIC and her pedi if they use the same growth chart and guidelines and they both said yes.
