Hello everyone,

Well yesterday I turned 36 weeks pregnant went to my weekly apointments. I knew the baby dropped because I pee every 15 mints and i feel him very low! So i went to my apt and sure enough hes head is right there! Hes lungs and everything is fully devlopment my OB said he is okay to have now only thing is playing the waiting game. He said once my contractions start I will start dilating. Im not dilated yet but I am really sore where I cant even walk! Anyone think of an estimate of when I when deliver? Oh and i havent had my shower, its not till next weekend :/

His lungs are still developing as is his brain. It's best to keep him in there as long as possible.

Did you have an amnio done? How could your doctor possibly know that his lungs are ready?

It's true some babies born weeks after 36 weeks have breathing problems...

I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and loosing my plug, I feel like my baby will fall out of my b******e and i physically cannot walk without debilitating pain that makes me cry. I'm will expecting to go weeks from now :/

A lot of people say that with your first baby, you're most likely to go past your due date. I was induced at 39 weeks so I don't know, but I wouldn't expect to go into labor anytime soon. You're still 4 weeks away, you're not even term yet. Also, you might start dilating before you contract. I was dilated to a 2 for a few weeks with no major contractions (just the BH ones). I know it feels like you have a long time to go, but just be patient. It's worth the wait :) And have fun at your shower!

Honestly you could still go for another 6 weeks. DS dropped at 32 weeks and I was induced at 41. I was having regular 3-5 minute contractions for 4 weeks as well. They just weren't strong enough to dilate my cervix.

The longer baby bakes the better. These last couple weeks are very important in brain development.

Your due date is the estimate of when you will deliver.

I'm 36 weeks today! I'm just waiting for him to arrive. Anxiously waiting for my next ob appointment in a few days to see if I'm dilated.

I have been dilated 2cm since 35 weeks and I'm due Tuesday (however, will be induced on Monday for medical reasons). My MW said some women are dilated weeks and weeks before they actually give birth and others are not dilated at all until labor actually begins. I know time drags on and on.. just keep yourself busy!
