My mom told me the other day I should get DD's hair trimmed. It's about 4-5 inches long. She said it will help it grow faster and more evenly. I was just curious when (if) did you cut your DD's hair for the first time. Her hair is curly if that makes a difference. I am afraid if I cut it the curls will go from soft kinky curls to like afro curls like her dad has too.

My 3 year old only gets her bangs trimmed. I haven't trimmed the back yet.

I've never cut my DD's hair, she'll be 4 in August. I only cut her bangs. It's *really* long so I'm saving her first haircut for her to do when/what she wants.

My friend claims I'm cruel lol, she says her long hair is stealing her vitamins.

Watching, my daughter has unruley curly hair lol it's ling when it's wet or straight, but thin, but it seems to just grow into a big mop!
I tie it up, she's 2 and a half and hasn't had a cut yet. She was baked for the longest time but it seems to have grown in fast. I like her hair much better ties up because she has a cute little palm tree of curls on the top of her head lol

We do first hair cuts at 5 in my family. No trims or bangs or anything before that.

We trimmed DDs hair around 18 months because she had a mullet going on lol. She gets it trimmed every few months, she is four now. DS is almost one and just had his first haircut, I don't like messy or straggly looking hair

I had a feeling my mom was nuts lol. She said it will make it grow more evenly. DD was born with a head full of hair and I swear the nurses did something to it because when we went home she had a little old man hair cut she was completely bald on top of her head and the back was still full so now her hair is completely uneven the back is about 5 inches long and the top is only about 3 inches long. It's so curly though you can't tell how long it is. This is completely new to me because my hair is straight lol.

Cutting your hair does keep it healthier and healthy grows better so she isn't completely nuts.

Yeah I know she isn't completely nuts but she was telling me I should cut it now DD is only 11 months old I was thinking closer to 2-3 years old for the first hair cut. I have to convince her dad too though because he is 100% against cutting her hair ever. It's just now filling in so I don't think right now is a good time to trim it at all.

DD got her first trim at 18months, her first cut at 27ish months. Now she gets regular bang trims, but not length.

Aww she's adorable. Her hair is thick too. My DD has really curly hair though so once it gets cut it's probably going to kink to her head like her daddy's hair does and my mom's hair used to.

Hers has crazy waves like mine, she lets me blow dry it and style it most days lol. I didn't trim hers until she had a mullet going on.

Yeah I am hoping the mullet will be disguised by the curls lol. The top is definitely a lot shorter than the back though :(

my oldest got her first hair cut a few months ago. She's 3 now. Before her hair cut I would cut bangs every now and then, but that was it.

before- hair to the middle of her back
