I've had to take LO's w/me to ER b4, even in an ambulance. The hospital staff was always helpful

as long as you feel okay to drive, take him with you. you need to go. maybe continue calling as you're waiting and see if anyone can meet you there maybe, or pick him up later if you think it's going to be awhile.

I wouldn't risk driving yourself anywhere w/that much blood loss.....just as a precaution. Nor would I want to be home w/a baby that cant call for help if you happen to pass out, which rapid blood loss has been known to cause.

you need to go in. Child with you or not. That's a bit too much blood for it to not be checked.

they wouldn't allow children under 12 in my L&D either. my 6 yr old daughter couldn't come and visit me and the baby at the hospital :? but if i needed to go to the ER and was fine to drive, i'd take the kids. i'd have to.

well, that sounds totally nuts! lol. i brought my newborn son to my appt to have my mirena inserted, lol. i know it's not necessarily the same thing, but... he slept the whole time, lol. but the nurse said, "don't worry if he wakes up. we've got lots of babysitters here!" lol. i would assume they'd extend the same kind of courtesy in the ER bc that's even more of a have to situation.

that's kind of messed up. I had to have emergency surgery, all while taking care of my son. Thank goodness one of the nurses there was leaving, she was nice enough to watch my son (7 months at the time) until I was out of surgery. I don't know what I would have done if she hadn't had been there. I'm terrified that CPS will take him now, if I'm in the situation again. :[[

OP- I would just keep calling people until you get a hold of someone, even if you're on your way. I hope you're alright!
