My son is 3 and we close his door..if we dont, he will lol He likes it dark in his room so he can see his glow stars better :P He can open it and he comes and climbs in our bed if he wants.

Quoting Subtle As A Hurricane:" When you put your toddler to bed, do you close the door to their room or leave it open? I was talking ... [snip!] ... over thinking everything and being a worried Nana, but I wanted other opinions, too, in case this topic comes up again. TIA! "

My sons door is closed AND there's a baby gate haha. The baby gate to keep him in..he often wakes up middle of the night, and if there's no gate he comes into our room and turns on the light and drives us nuts. But if there's a gate he just goes back to sleep on his own. We also have the door closed for 2 reasons, to keep the noise out b/c we're usually up for a couple hours past him..and then the main reason is b/c our cat loves to go in his room, and she'll attempt to sleep on his pillow and wake him up, or she sleeps on his face

when i was in school they say to close the doors because if there is a fire it gives u more time to get out and thank god all my kids rooms have windows but they have hurricane film in them so it will be hard to break them.

if the kids cant open the window themselves then keeping the doors closed defeats the purpose.
