I need opinions. Today is MIL's birthday. Her and Keith's song has always been "You are my Sunshine." Now, she sings it to Isaiah, too. I was on pinterest and saw this:

It was perfect and I was so excited to make it, and the actual sun part turned out really well! I used Keith's palm as the center of the sun, and then Isaiah's hands for the rest. I lined the words using a pen, and was planning to go over it with the yellow/orange paint. But the paint won't f**king cover the pen. So now I'm all upset and I feel like I just messed it all up. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I kind of like the pen showing through but if you truly hate it you could do a darker paint or maybe a thicker paint?

Either darker paint for the worlds or doing two+ coats of paint. In between coats, let the paint dry completely. It will help keep the layers separate. Cute idea! Good luck!

I don't think it looks bad with the pen showing...but if it bothers you maybe do it in black paint instead?

Can you maybe get a darker Orange sharpie & trace the pen?

Do you have a little primer laying around? Do the letters in primer and then cover with the orange.

It looks great though!!

Awesome idea!!

I agree the orange sharpie would work or letting the coats of paint dry before applying the next.

Put clear nail polish between coats of the orange.

Just went over the rest of the writing in orange. The pen is still showing through a little, but I think it looks okay like that now that it's all done! Should I try to go back and put another layer on it/try an orange sharpie, or should I just leave it?
