They are professionals lol. My OB has always been dead on with his measurements. It has always blown my mind how they can feel and know about how big the baby is!

hahaha.....seriously, how do you think you can measure a uterus on women with a 38 inch waist the same as you can measure the uterus of a women with a 28 inch waist?

Im not a doctor...however, Ive had 3 kids, all with the same OB...and his measurements on my belly have all been consistent with my ultrasound measurements. AND, when he feels baby and tells me how big the baby is (on average) right before I give birth, he is DEAD on, each time. No ultrasound required. When he measures my uterus, he feels and pushes down hard way low and then up high, and pushes around, feeling. When I lay down, my belly completely changes shape and I have a "normal" pregnant belly. The fat flattens out. It's been absolutely possible to get accurate measurements with me---Ive gotten it with all 3 kids. He's seriously dead on with weight checks on the baby--within a half pound. Like I said, it probably differs with each person. Everyone carries fat differently.

I am totally confused by you.

This thread is about over weight ladies bellies measuring ahead

You're talking about your doctor guessing your babies size.

Yet in my other thread you talk about how you measured ahead.........

OP and I were talking about doctors accurately measuring a baby's weight by feel. I told you my doctor was accurate with my belly measuring ahead, as well as their weights...just by feeling, and I'm overweight. You told me thats not possible, when people have belly fat.

Not sure what you're confused about.
