so my little one visited his great grandmother two days ago while his daddy and I had to go to work. When we picked him up i saw tiny red bumps all over his body, legs, arms, back, belly, and even a couple on his face. SHE HAD FLEAS IN HER HOUSE!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Ever since, I've been sooo upset! I want to go ask her what the hell she was thinking knowing and just letting it happen! I want to cry every time I look at the bites and want to make them go away. He doesn't act like he is itching, but still. A local pharmacist gave us some anti-itch cream that we could use for him since he is only 11 months old. We go on vacation in 3 days and his daddy and I are getting married in 6 days. I WANT THE BUMPS GONE! any remedies that anyone knows of to make them disappear faster? (besides him never entering that house until I know that there is not one flea)

Wow. I'm sorry you are so upset but I feel like you are over reacting a little bit. Worse things are going to happen to your child. That being said, I wouldn't let my LO go back over there till she got rid of the fleas. They'll go away in a few days hun, try not to worry more about them.

I agree you are over reacting a bit. Yes it is a bit itchy. 6 days is enough time for the bumps to be practically gone if he isn't itching them. But I guarantee you if this is the worst he ever encounters you are lucky. 2 days before my sister's wedding, in which my DD was the flower girl, she fell and got 2 black eyes and a bloody nose. In all my sister's wedding pictures (pre-editing) my DD looks like she was punched in the face. :)

My DD fell and skinned her knee and her nose the day before pictures (she was wearing a dress that showed her knee down). I was 28 weeks pregnant and I bawled. LOL Hormones mess us up. :)

Maybe try giving him an oatmeal bath? I know it's mostly uses for chicken pox but it helps soothe any itchy spots or redness. Also try Aveeno eczema lotion.

I don't think you're overreacting, I would be livid. Hopefully the bumps will be gone by wedding date. My son had a bruise on his face from daycare for our wedding pictures that we had to cover with makeup.

They should definitely be gone in time for the wedding. You might be over reacting but I think its normal behavior at the same time! I would freak out if my baby was covered from head to toe in fleas bites...where the hell was the babysitter when he got bit so many times?! I have been battling fleas in my house and have found then on my baby twice and basically as soon as they jumped on him I got the little bastard off, so they didn't bite him. Anyway tell you're grandmother that the best way to get rid if fleas out if the carpet is to use borax. It seriously will cut them down 90% with just the first application and you keep using it until they're gone. (unless you want to bomb with chemicals but that super sketchy IMO)

I dont think that you are over reacting at all I would have flipped out. That makes me sad for your LO and what ever poor animals have fleas that bad. :( If hes not itching them they should be gone by the wedding.

You are completely overreacting.

A lot of the time, fleas don't really affect adults. They go after children because they have tender skin. The woman may not have even known that she had fleas in her home.

It's not like she hatched a diabolical plot to unleash thousands of fleas to feast on your child.
