in three days we will be flying to vegas for our wedding (3 hour flight) and my little man is 11 months old, not to mention me being 31 weeks pregnant the day we fly out. I flew the same flight pregnant last year, but at 24 weeks. I'm not too worried about the flight for myself....but for my restless 11mo old! I thought, you know, just keep him awake all day and let him sleep on the long flight since we are flying at night anyway, but I'm doubting myself now. Anyone have tips?

Bring a crap load of toys, snacks, and comfort items.

When my kids get over tired they are much harder to handle. My advise would be to let him stay on his normal routine as much as possible. Take a couple toys, snacks of course, maybe something he can chew on or suck on while taking off and landing to help with his ears.

He needs to be in a car seat any ways. Its not safe for him or any one else he can become a projectile. plus you shouldn't check car seats the baggage people throw them and things shift around in the hold causing damage.

We took Ds on a plane at 11 months old. We chose a flight time around the same time he'd be napping. I held him and rocked him to sleep and he slept the whole time. Going back was a different story, but luckily the person behind us thought he was cute and kept playing peek-a-boo with him. Lol. No crying or anything. He did great.

And I would check the carseat when you load rather than with the luggage. I don't buy my younger kids their own seat for the plane. I just hold them. And it is legal to do so.

we are checking the carseat and he will be on our lap. cheaper and easier for us! i know im not lugging that huge carseat on and off the plane 31 weeks pregnant! :)
