Any tips? Besides the obvious, wait until they're ready. I got that one already... Just needing other tips for if/when they're ready.
For us, learning to get to the potty when he has the feeling that he needs to go is most important. I know a lot of parents like to train them to pee while they are standing up but we will work on aiming later.
Remind them or ask/tell them frequently to go potty. My son is easily distracted and would gladly pee his pants if he was to into a show or whatever he was doing when we were potty training. Teach him to pee sitting down and work on standing later. Its just a mess and annoying when you sit in a puddle of pee.
Thank you both. Some days I think they're ready, some days nit so much. When you do it, do you leave them naked, in underwear or with a pull up on?
My son is not yet potty trained but the other day I saw him taking off his pants and diaper so I thought it would be a good time to see if he would use the potty. He sat down on the chair for about a minute, but didnt go. I went to go get him a diaper and came back to find him standing up, holding a cup under his p***s... the cup was full of pee! lol. I dont know that it was about the cup... but I suppose he liked being able to see it as he was peeing. Im thinking about having DH take him to the bathroom with him to see if he can grasp the concept of using the potty better. lol

They have been taking off their dirty diapers for a few months now, and hiding them from us. I thought they might be ready, so I thought we'd play with the potty today. Everytime I sit them on it... Nothing. Yhe second they get off the potty, they pee in the floor... I guess we'll try again later.

I did underwear during the day and pull ups at night or if we were going out/driving far away. With my soon it took almost a full year to train and he was 3 almost 4. He had zero interest in it and would pee in the potty every once in a while and would refuse to poop in the toilet. Then one day I kid you not, he woke up and decided to use the potty all the time and that was that. A year later and hes only had 2 accidents.
