My days & TTC? Mrs. Feliz. 2 kids; New Jersey 9994 posts

Have any of you mamas used my days (it's an app for your phone) to help you TTC? It's supposed to tell you when you ovulate, keep track of AF & all that good stuff.. My husband and I are now TTC our second child, and was just curious if this app has helped or not. Thanks :)

i would use the fertility friend app for ttc, you can track temps, and the way you are feeling, other signs stuff like that. I use my days just to keep track of periods..

I used it and for me it was pretty accurate. The app goes by the average for women so you could ovulate a little longer or a little shorter than it will tell you.

Yes, I use one but as I've been TTC since October, that doesn't say much for the apps...
Most apps usually go by a "standard" cycle length etc. so the predicted dates may not be accurate. I use mine as a place to record my OPKs and keep track of my cycle, but I don't trust the dates predicted as it's rarely right for me.

I'm completely new at this. We haven't tried to conceive before. I'm not sure what to look for, what to feel like anything lol. I'm not great with terms either.. Like opK ..

Sorry OPK means ovulation prediction kit.

They sell tests that you can use to predict when you're ovulating. Similar to a pregnancy test (pee on a stick sort of deal). There are other ways to track ovulation including cervical mucus, basal temperature etc. I also recommend going to fertilityfriend.com for help :) Good luck!

I use what to expect fertility app, it's pretty good about letting you put your information and then you can go back and adjust it to make it accurate. After a couple months of tweaking, it's usually spot on, but I also watch my CM and take OPK's.

I'm so lost when women say they have checked their cervix..

:!:
Interested in this answer as well. I know it involves, sticking fingers up there and feeling for certain things, but I've always thought that doing that was dangerous because of possible infections etc. but maybe I'm wrong.

I've tried the "checking of cervix" i'm apparently not to good in that area to me it always seems down but I either have short arms cause I've heard people say they can feel the opening where their cervix is but I can't, hopefully someone else can assist you on that one cause I always seem to get it wrong. But with the CM (cervical mucus, sorry I've been abbreviating so long I forget there are still people who don't know what things mean) usually when I go to the bathroom and I'm getting close to ovulation or I am it's a thick, slimy, white texture. Some people don't feel comfortable with this part, but insert two fingers into your vagina and you'll be able to tell it's what is called the EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) also, my husband tells me when i'm close to ovulation it seems my cervix is tighter and more swollen feeling too. I include him in on this as well, because sometimes he has noticed things I haven't.

Oh, sorry of course this is a no-brainer but make sure you don't use any lube that isn't sperm friendly. Also, always be sure to wash your hands extremely well before checking yourself and tell your partner to do so too!

I've learned how to check CM (btw there is a great website with pictures so you know what to look for. Gross but extremely helpful), but I've never checked the cervix and have no clue how I would even do that. Any recommended websites for info on how to check properly and what to look for?

Honestly, I have just Googled it. I Google everything and watch videos on YouTube. Thank you for the site though, I will check it out. Sometimes I feel like a walking dictionary for this TTC stuff!!
