that's impossible... the law in most states I believe is 4 & 40 lbs.

My 60 pound almost 5-yr-old is still in a 5 point harness... is your 2-yr-old 65 pounds plus?

My cousins 4 year old is 65lbs and over 40inches tall and is just now going into a booster seat. He was ready for a booster at 2, but she would never put him in one at that age

not to mention, the seat belt isn't even on right... if you were to get into an accident, both of your children would likely be seriously injured. I broke my neck in an accident & both cars were barely going 25 mph IF that. my son was fine though, broke his leg but that's because his leg was on the back of my seat

Quoting Miss Beautiful0812:" Someone rear ended me at a stop light and my son at 2.5 and was sitting in a different booster seat(but ... [snip!] ... the cops and the cop looked right at my son sitting in the booster seat (once again) and didn't say nothing then either..."

Cops aren't generally very knowledgeable about carseats unfortunately. I would put them in correctly to be safe though, not to avoid getting in trouble w/ the law. What was the name of the 5 pt you had...? Are you sure the straps couldn't get any bigger or any higher? I think it is very unlikely he truly outgrew it... if he did, that's a POS carseat & I would buy another one.

Quoting Miss Beautiful0812:" Are you talking about the trap going across the shoulder? Um, they don't keep it on. They remove it."

you're talking about the seat belt right?

then yea... that definitely means he isn't ready for a booster... that basically doesn't protect him at all whatsoever.

:(. What they are trying to say is. You're babies by law (It's in car seat manuals) are not safe. Not one bit are they safe :(. She's letting you know for your own good. Not being mean. It would only take one accident with enough impact to hurt those babies or even worse kill one. All because they are not properly in a car seat. :(. You should read the manual they came with. I bet you could even look it up online and it will tell you. A cop may or may not care enough at the point of stop or riding behind you. But if in an accident and something happens where your child is ejected from the car, they will look into it and you could be citied for it. Just because you have seen so and so with this or that with their child does not make it right. You as a mother want what's best for your children. Just look it up for their age and wait. You'll see that there's a safer way where the least amount of harm will be done in an accident.

But this is about making sure your kids are as safe as possible... Don't you care? :( who cares if cops do something or not... If you crash, he's going to fly out the front window... put your two year old in a 5 point like he is supposed to.

We're not trying to attack you, only keep the kiddos safe. My 3.5 year old is big for her age and fits fine in her graco nautilus, maybe check that out. Our even the graco headwise 70 or seats like it (size for me 70 and my size 70)
