IMO I thought the pain of contractions and giving birth were a completely different pain than any I have ever had. I have a very low pain tolerance, if I stub my toe I literally cry; When I was in labor with my second I hadn't planned to have him naturally (I had an epi. with my first) I didn't realize that the pain is actually not that bad and chose at the last minute to do it naturally. I think the reason that I thought labor hurt so bad the first time was because everyone around me told me it would.
I'm not a pusher for natural birth I've done it both ways but don't be afraid of it until you try it! It is an amazing thing.

Quoting I declare a Time War:" I want to do it natural so badly. I'm just terrified now that I will cave since I can barely handle this pain. I really want to go natural. "

*For me* labor was a different kind of pain, you can always try and have the meds on stand by. Don't let anyone pressure you not to use them if you feel you need them. It is the birth of your child you should have it the way you feel is best for you.
