I'm sorry if I been posting too much about this I'm just really worried. DS is really strong when it comes to pain, he rarely complains so when he does I know it's a big deal. On Monday, he was started 7 ml of amoxicillin twice a day for double ear infection and strep throat...the fever went away on Tue night but last night it came back. I took him in today because his head had also been hurting him a lot. Well, the ear infections are still present so his pedi gave him an antibiotic shot and I'm suppose to continue the amoxicillin.

Now, has this happened to any of your LO? I scared that amoxicillin is just not going to cut it for him anymore. When he was 18 months he had several infections resistant to it and was admitted for a week in the hospital. This morning his fever was just 100.4 but now it's 102.1. He is passed out on the couch very out of it and I can't really force him to take the motrin like that since I don't have a syringe. Also, how long should I wait before taking him back in?

We had ear infections constantly until my son turned two. Had an ENT consult and everything.

Are they changing the antibiotic each time he gets a new infection? I'd give him until tomorrow to give the shot some time to kick in. Also you can get a syringe from any pharmacy for free, you just have to ask for one.

The aren't changing the antibiotic, she just have him a higher dose. And I would go to a pharmacy but I'm home alone with him and he just feels to bad to even walk. His legs have been hurting him for the past 2 days and he has been making me carry him a lot, he got the dot on his butt so now he doesn't wanna sit in his car seat.

I mean when he had his last ear infection, did they give him ammoxocillian or a different antibiotic? If they're not rotating them he will become resistant to the one they keep giving him. I'd give him until tomorrow to see if he starts feeling better, if not I'd take him to the pedi again or even the ER personally. As for the fever, try to find something you can measure his dose with and give it to him however you can. I'm sorry he's so sick mama :(
