If you decided to have your child be an only child, what did you do about birth control? We use condoms/NFP/pull-out but I really want something more permanent at some point. Is there any way to get a tubal or vasectomy if you only have one? TIA

Vasectomy, yes. Tubal, probably not but still possible unless you are the right age. Rivals really depend on the doctors. Vasectomy would probably be the easier route to go, as long as your partner was agreeable lol

Vasectomy- yep. Tubal- talk to your doctor. Some require you be a certain age. Others won't. Others will ask that you go to counseling to be sure that you're making the right decision.

Doesn't hurt to ask your doc though. Have you thought about an IUD or anything? I personally don't think I'd want an IUD... blah. I've been on no birth control since before our 3.5 year old

I refuse to do an IUD or anything hormonal.

Have your man get fixed. Easiest route unless youre the right age.

One of the doctors at my OB/GYN office offered a tubal to me after my miscarriage. I never even asked him for one. He said 21 years old to make that decision.

But I also live in a different state. It could be different by you.

Before they sedated me for my second emergency c-section the on-call OB leaned over me and said, "by the way, should we tie your tubes while we're in there?" I was like WTF?? NO!
