Would you let your toddler play in their playroom, alone, while you took at 20-30 minute nap? I'm tired, running on 2 hours of sleep since Thursday, and I just need a nap. It isn't their naptime for another couple of hours. The boys are 2. What would you do? Put them down for nap early or let them play in the playroom? If they'd nap with me, I'd go that route, but they won't, so that's a no go.

About that age I'd lay on their bedroom floor right in front of the door & pass out. If they have a big enough bed to lay in I'd lay in that & close the door, if they can't open it or gate it off. I'd stay in their area, but sleep right there.

I would attempt to put them down for an early nap....my DD is 2.5 and I'm not even close to letting her play while I sleep.....but my DD is also a troublemaker lol

umm never as a toddler. maybe a school aged child say around 8. That can be trusted to understand DOn't open the door, don't use the stove...things like that. My cousin just had a 2ish yr old wonder into her house and it took them forever to track down the mom. When cops found her, She said oh sorry. I went to nap. one kid was in the yard( 1ish) and one had wondered to my cousins house.
I would just lay down with them and see if they will take an early nap. I have to do that with my daughter sometimes, when the baby has kept me up

I nap all the time in the living room on the couch while DD (22 months)watches a movie next to me, but I'm a light sleeper. If I wanted to be in another room and let my kid play alone, 4 is when we let my stepdaughter do that. I left my bedroom door open to hear and she would play in her room or watch a movie on her own.

Mine are 2.5 (will be 3 in two months) and 4.5 (will be 5 in November) and I will nap on the couch with them in the living room, all doors locked (basement, bathroom, front and back) and I'm a light sleeper when it comes to them. I have been doing it since my youngest was about 2?

LOL 8 years old? My 4 year old knows not to open the door, touch the stove, wake up the baby, and when it's appropriate to wake me up or not.

At 2 years old, if they're not potty-trained, I'd close the door to the playroom, lie down with a pillow and roll over.
