I'm 34 weeks along and started having contractions, they ended up stopping them at the hospital.

Does it depend on the hospital cause I've googled it and come up with 3 different answers to the same question.

When will a hospital not stop potential labor/contractions?

What I've seen
Week 35
Week 36
Week 37

Which is the true answer or does it depend on the hospital/doctor?

It depends on the doctor/hospital.

My 34 weeker was in the NIC-U for over a month. Glad they stopped them for you. I believe 35-36 is when they will not try to stop your labor but they also won't help you progress. Every hospital and doctor is different though.

They let me go at 35 weeks by my calc and 36 weeks by theres. But baby was 6.8lbs so I think he was farther than that.

My SIL had both of hers at 36 weeks at another hospital.

I'd say 36 weeks is probably the time they don't stop it anymore.

Makes sense.
For some reason the fact that I was starting to have contractions figured it was my body's way of saying its time, didn't think they'd stop it thought I'd be far enough along at week 34 almost 35. Not that I'm complaining haha

I wonder how long that stuff they give to stop the contractions lasts O.o

I had contractions with my first son at 27 weeks...they couldn't stop them and he was 1 lb 9 oz. Contractions do not mean it's time.

Well when my son was born I never experienced any contractions, he never even dropped, nor did I experience braxten hicks. So I didn't even know what I was experiencing when I went into the hospital I just knew it was unpleasant and new.

This one dropped 9 days ago, and everything that's happened since is very different from what I went through the first go around xD

Doctor/hospital. My OB will stop them till you're 36 weeks unless you've had numerous preterm labor scares.

This, too. I had contractions at 34 weeks with this one but I've had 4 preemies and when they stop contractions, my blood pressure shoots sky high. He didn't do anything to stop them, but he didn't help me along, either.

No joke? LOL I'm convinced the day I said "OMG the 4th?! It'd be so awesome if he came on my due date!" was the day he decided to make it happen.
